GEO Staffing Boards Peer Community Interest Form
  • Grantmakers for Effective Organizations Staffing Boards Peer Community Interest Form

GEO transforms philanthropic culture and practice by connecting members to the resources and relationships needed to support thriving nonprofits and communities. In fall 2023, GEO began a multiyear learning initiative to support grantmakers who are exploring and making changes to their governance practices and culture to make boards more equitable, meaningful and valuable. Grantmaker boards are an essential lever for change in philanthropy. Our goal is to surface and promote concrete practices that help funders better align their governance with their mission and values. We've heard interest from members in coming together with other non-CEO staff who work with grantmaker boards for peer connection and resource sharing. This group includes board liaisons, corporate secretaries, chiefs of staff, executive office managers, senior leaders, learning staff, and anyone else who supports the work of the board beyond the CEO (we offer other programs for CEOs and trustees). If you'd like to join this kind of peer group, please complete this interest form.  This opportunity is open to current GEO members. If you have questions about your GEO membership status or eligibility to join, reach out to GEO's Membership & Development Manager Autumn Shepherd-Van Patten (shepherd@geofunders.org). If you have any questions about this offering, reach out to GEO's Executive Vice President Meghan Duffy at duffy@geofunders.org.
